The DSO concert on the 29th November, 2025, promises to be really special featuring the extremely talented violinist, Lynda O'Connor, playing Mendelssohn's beautiful violin concerto. You can see from the solo violin line of my midi version score video of the first movement, how complex and difficult this beautiful piece is to play, a testament to Lynda's huge talent. This concert will be the best value for money in Dublin, featuring another very talented musician and conductor, André Cavanagh, extracting the most from the orchestra.
Another piece for the program is Béthune, a piano concerto by Paul Tobin (one of our bassist's) and is a three- movement arrangement of which the first two movements for piano and orchestra will be played. Béthune is dedicated to Paul's maternal grandfather, Peter Dempsey, killed in WW1 in Béthune.
The second movement of Béthune- Adagio dedicated to Peter's only child, Roseann Dempsey.
The exciting complex and really very beautiful Dvorak's eight symphony, will be performed in full, under the baton of the talented, André Cavanagh.
